The lymphatic system carries fluid out of the tissue and back into circulation. When it cannot keep up, for example after an operation, with lymphoedema or with fluid that builds up in the legs, the tissue feels heavy, swollen and tight. Manual lymphatic drainage supports this flow by hand.
What happens in the session
The technique is very different from a classic massage. We work with slow, gentle, rhythmic pumping and circling movements on the skin, without oil and without pressure on the muscles. The work typically starts near the large lymph nodes, so the pathways are open, and then moves towards the swollen area. Most people find it deeply calming. Plan for 50 minutes and drink some water afterwards.
Who it is for
Lymphatic drainage is often used after surgery or injury, with lymphoedema, with heavy or swollen legs, and for swelling that does not settle on its own. Yes. Up to 24 hours before your appointment, you can reschedule or cancel it free of charge in your account; after that, please call us. If you cancel later or don’t show up, we charge a cancellation fee equal to the treatment price, unless we can rebook the time. Yes. Our gift vouchers can be redeemed for a treatment at Onuā. You can choose a treatment duration or enter a custom amount between CHF 20 and CHF 500. If the full amount is not used at once, the remaining balance stays on the voucher.
